What Is the Sohni Dharti Remittance Program?
If you work abroad and send money home, you may have heard of Sohni Dharti. It is a loyalty scheme run by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Finance, with 1LINK as the technology partner.
The idea was simple. Send money through a bank or exchange company, earn points, and spend those points on government services. It was meant to encourage overseas Pakistanis to use official channels instead of informal ones.
Important: What Has Changed in 2026?
This is the part most old articles miss:
| Date | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Up to 30 June 2026 | Eligible remittances continue to qualify for reward points under the programme. |
| From 1 July 2026 | No new reward points are awarded for new remittances. |
| Until 30 June 2027 | Previously earned reward points remain eligible for redemption. |
| From 1 July 2027 | The programme becomes non-functional. |
PIA redemption: Your note says Pakistan International Airlines redemption has been paused by the partner since 1 April 2026. Verify its current status before relying on this detail.

How Did the Points System Work?
Points were a percentage of your remittance, based on how much you sent in a year:
| Tier | Annual Remittance (USD) | Points Awarded |
|---|---|---|
| Green | USD 0–10,000 | 1.00% |
| Gold | USD 10,001–30,000 | 1.25% |
| Platinum | USD 30,001–50,000 | 1.50% |
| Diamond | USD 50,001–99,999 | 1.75% |
Processing time: Points may take a few working days to appear in your account. After registration, a profile may need around five days before redemption becomes available.
Important: These tier thresholds, reward rates, and processing times are provided for reference. Check the current State Bank of Pakistan or official Sohni Dharti Remittance Programme information before relying on them, as programme rules and redemption options may change.
